Gameplay

Use the arrow keys to move your player, at the bottom of the screen, so as to avoid getting smashed by the colored blocks constantly falling from the sky. If you are smashed by one of them, you lose a life.

Blocks that are resting on the ground pose no further danger. In fact, you get more points by stepping over the fallen blocks to destroy them.

You start with 5 lives and the ability to gain another every 10,000 points. As the game progresses, blocks fall faster and lives become scarcer.

Falling Blocks comes with a table of high scores so you can compete against others.

Availability

Falling Blocks runs in DOS text mode and has trouble maintaining a correct speed on Windows NT, 2000, or XP. You may want to try using an emulator like DOSBox to play it. If you still run Windows 95 or 98, Falling Blocks should work fine in full-screen mode (press Alt+Enter).
